engine and drivetrain OT saw a nice supercarged miata yesterday....

It had a 5 Liter supercharged ford engine with 500+ HP at the wheels. I talked to the guy who owns it and he said it handles very well because of he wide fenders and wheels. It also hits 60 MPH in about 3.3 and does the 1/4 mile in about 11 seconds.

a $175,000 fully prepped Ford-powered Miata... sounds like it could be the same guy..

the story as i heard it was that he put the frod motor in it, and the chassis wasnt up to the task. then it went through a long and expensive process of upgrading the chassis resulting in tube framing, race brakes and basically every possible thing you could do to make a fire-breather out of a little japanese MG.... his goal was to smoke his own 600hp Viper, i guess...
