turn signal / all lights flash

Thought I had rear tail-lights wired right ( doing a trunk clean-up ) They worked correctly ... now when I do a left or right turn signal indication / all four lights flash ( front and back ) Thought it was a bad stalk, but put one from another car on and same problem. A fluke ? Freak ? Or just a short somewhere ? I'm electrically challenged, but can pass on theories to competent persons.

cleanup, then you put one or more wires back on the wrong terminals.

Check your car's wiring diagram, or compare with another car of the same year. Is this your 71 or your 73, six or twelve fuse? On 73s, with the ign off, selecting a left or right turn with the column stalk will illuminate the matching parking light and tail light--for on street parking in Europe. You may have inadvertently connected a tail light wire where the turn signal wire goes. Don't think the 71 has this feature.

cheers

It's the 71 ( 73 in primer ... will dive in this summer / maybe ) Thanks ... I'll look over connections ( nothing compare it to ) but think I have a diagram somewhere.
