Installed the pads from Woody today

Other than sniffing glue and getting it all over my fingers (still peeling it off), a very easy install.

The hood padding is to protect the hood's paint from engine bay heat and to keep noise down. What possible use could the trunk lid padding have? More expensive models like the E3 have trim panels there for looks but on the 02 I don't see any reason to have that.

Noise reduction would be the general idea. The cheapest cars have no padding or lining of any sort on the trunk lid. As you go up in price, you see one or both. My assumption has been that the trunk lid will resonate at some speeds. High end audio installations sometimes add sound mat on the underside of the trunk lid (along with everywhere else), adding to this theory.

What I've not seen (without looking) is if there's an audible difference in 2002's. Anyone, if you've done this let us know...
