Fall Foliage Drive - Northeast?

Cross the GW, meet up at the park-n-ride on the PIP, north to the 9w exit at Palisade, stop for some more coffee in Piermont/Nyack, Continue up 9w past Jones Point, then up to Harriman/Bear Mtn, 7 lakes Dr. area.

But then again it would take me 2 days to get there from here. Have fun. I miss cruising around that area. Pics for some nostalgia please.

Hi all. I actually had a nice email written and my phone died before i published.

Unfortunately, at this time, the only day I can go is October 13 (Saturday). I would like us all to meet up in the morning (8 or 9ish am) and drive North - Westchester, Ct, harriamn park, maybe even higher up - all sounds good - i can drive all day till about 5pm - coffee breaks, etc....

If you are able to go on Saturday, October 13, I would be happy to organize a route.

Please reply directly to this forum if you are interested and please suggest and starting and ending point. Seven Lakes Drive- Harriman State Park, NY sounds very nice.

I look forward to your replies and really look fwd to meeting everyone.

Jealous.

I start a new job on the 15th, extended road trip is not on the slate. Sloatsburg/Tuxedo Park used to be a notorious speed trap on the local roads up into the Stearling Forest area.

As you head north from Stoney Point is Tomkins Cove, wave at the jail house on the right hand side for me. Even further north is Jones Point. Nice little stone one room school house/church house off the river just by the RR tracks across from Indian Point. Maybe a nice place to break before jetting up to Bear Mtn/ West Point. Army's at home playing Kent St. 12:00pm kick off. Looks like a Nice Lower Hudson Valley river basin drive, especially coming back on the east side through Croton as well. It's Autumn so no swimming in the quarrys on the way back.

Drive safe.

Remember some pics please.

Looks good...!

Id like to suggest just that we meet at the noted end point "B" on the map...then head over the TZB W bound on up N into the planned route.....then ending again at B. We would run into the planned route at Suffern....

Pt. A to Suffern has no real highlights as far as I know...lol..and folks could avoid the GWB!

make sense?...just my .01!

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
