on my wife's 2002 C240 Mercedes sedan.

Both rear coil springs were replaced today - one was broken, one was cracked. Only thought that happened to E46 cars (maybe same supplier?).

Car has 141,600 miles -purchased new.

Ooof - sorry to hear that news Andrew. Is that your lumber hauler ;-)?

A friend of ours just bought a new X1 automatic - she likes it (replacing her 12 year old Passat).

Not really a 'work' vehicle though my wife drives it for work, it's the year round car. The rear springs are progressive rate and fracture at the last bottom coil. Still have access to the Suburban for lumber and trucky things when needed.
