74 2002 Automatic

When i take it easy on acceleration no symptoms

When i give it a little punch from a stand still i get what sounds like slipping from 1st to 2nd.

Could this be a linkage problem?

any other ideas?

Recently i had the tranny fluid 'flushed' to see if it would cure problem, it didn't.

....were there any comments from the "flusher" that the old fluid

smelled burnt like an electric motor stink ?

was there very black sediment in the pan and screen ?

if yes to both - then the trans is toast - burnt toast.

time for a rebuild or exchange.

I forget-

can the bands on a BMW box be adjusted? The BW35 could be tightened

up if you caught it early enough, sometimes...

The flusher said fluid looked pretty clean.

He did find a screw in the pan. Which was confusing.

Fluid off the stick doesn't smell burning at all.

Previously the car was garaged for many years.

Daily driving it now.

LOOK at the trans control cable that attaches to the throttle linkage behind the motor and check it's adjustment and a free movement.

If yout throttle linkage is fuched that does not help either for starters
