Guest Anonymous
Would it be safe to say that if I had a shortened 02 platform and a long 02 platform, measured the difference and cut that value out of a new 02 linkage rod that I would have a correctly shortened shift linkgage rod? I'm plan to use the 02 shift platform that I had installed with the 5 speed conversion/m10-- this will be used with my 323i 5speed/m20 combo and move the shift hole aft as necessary. Right now I have a shortened linkage rod that was incorrectly shortened (B.A.) but the old one was never measured and tossed.
Guest Anonymous
I went by the 3.56 inch(I think) measurement that a lot of folks use. I shortened the platform and linkage by the sme amount.
Guest Anonymous
Bill, in addtion to what I emailed you...the way I did it was measure it all up,preparing to shorten the arm the same amount I shortened my driveshaft...BUT...I also got in the car, held the shift lever up at the angle to which I wanted it..and THEN cut it to fit. Common sense prevails in this operation.. Matt '72 02/m20
