recently acquired this 'parts' car that turned out to be too complete and dry to scrap. I'll post pics of the progress asap to keep this blog active.

The Haynes manual says that some of the early cars had an attached reservoir; however first one I've seen that's not remote. Must be pretty original under the hood- but the interior llooks like a mix of things. The door panels are pre-74, the gauge cluster 73-76 and the steering wheel 73-76?

And the seats from an e21 or something?

Looks like someone had AC in it at some point, guessing from the console side I see laying there...

Is that the correct water neck for a 69? I thought the early cars had a different one, but I'm guessing that was like 67 early...

Looks to have an interesting history. I wonder why the grilles and radiator were removed.

Cool find!

I too am interested to know the VIN.

Here is a pic of the brake fluid reservoir in Ray's 68 1600.

Does your car have standard axles with CV joints or the earlier long neck diff with the U-joint axles?

VIN 1567693

Car has early long neck, mechanical clutch, early smooth case 4 speed tranny, and single line brakes. I took pics of the early half shafts, but my photo resolution is too high. As soon as I reduce the size of the file I will post the pics.

Car has original muffler dated 12/68. Dash, gauge cluster, and steering wheel 'upgraded' to '74 by previous owner. I'll return these to normal. Car is very very dry.....about as rust free as you can find. More photos soon.

More disassembly. The dash, trim, bumpers, interior, glass and motor are out. I will replace the fender and get to work on more stripping and then prep for paint. The motor smokes, but runs...will need work.
