You could also get a rattle can of black vinyl dye and give it a quick spritz.

Get a Euro spec dash (no fasten seatbelt billboard as well). Only US spec BMW's had the gear shift pattern on the dash. I think someone in DOT thought we needed to be reminded on the proper gear shift pattern.
