I've never been able to figure it out! Does anyone have the the secret on how to make those black interior door latch inserts stay in place? I just bought a new pair thinking it would do the trick, but no dice, they popped out right away! The amazing thing is that the establishment that sold them to me said "you have to pop 'em in just right!" Perhaps the guy neglected to mention that this "popping in" process requires a few half-chewed wads of watermelon flavored Bubble Yum?

Thanks, Coop

It always takes me a week to get the stupid thing to stay put!

I just push the big end in first, then work your way to the other

end. It will pop out, and you'll do it again.....and again....and

again.....then it will eventually stay there! I dunno, but thats

my experience with it!

stick the little end in place first, then snap the large end into its retaining hole. If you do it the other way 'round, you'll stretch the plastic and it'll tend to fall out. If it still does, put a dab of contact cement (or Goop) on the big end before you press it it. You'll still be able to remove it as glue doesn't stick to polyethelene too well.

Or...get all-metal door handles from a '67.
