I'll get some higher-quality pictures later today... the original rims are going back on it, and the sheepskin seat covers are already gone... you may have seen this car on ebay :)

Overheats, battery doesn't hold a charge (a cop helped me push it when I stalled it... c'mon, I havn't driven stick in 3 years!).. and one cylinder misfires... and I love it.

this site is for Bavaria class (E-3) BMW's. There is still a '74 Bavaria for sale here (Rochester), it's been on consignment for about 2 years now, at a shop called "The Wire Wheel"; automatic, amazon green/tan. Very nice interior, I believe it has webers also, I drove the car about 9 years ago, it was for sale back then, bought by a guy that owns a poster art store, he sold it to a lady that commuted daily to Buffalo, a little over an hour each way from Rochester. She moved to New York, left the car here for sale on consignment. It needs an exhaust, tune up, and tie rods., some minor rust at the front of the hood, dings, rust at lower passenger fender, solid floors, shock towers, rocker panels; she's asking around $2k. New sheet metal is very expensive from what I read, get in touch with people on the seniorsix.org list for parts, best of luck with the "Bav",

I haven't been on the board lately so I don't know. Did you pick it up locally? I saw a green one in DePere about 2 years ago.

TB from a 535/733/735 (cheap at the boneyard), and slap a MegaSquirt in there very easily. Bavaria's are neat cars, but those Zenith carbs will only cause you grief.

Cheers!

Nope, the '02 is my summer project... this is the winter project :)

Doesn't need much in the way of body work, just going to get the motor fixed and have the small amounts of body rust taken off and painted...

The '02 is waiting to go to the sandblasters (don't worry kids, underbody only) and then be stripped.

call me crazy but I like carbs. would love to stuff

that motor into my 02. A little engine work like

raised CR and a CAM then add a pair of weber 45's.

radiator, there's a three row replacement core for a Bav radiator just like for an '02...a very effective cure for the problem. Just like 02's Bavarias had marginal cooling systems for the US.

Good luck with the new one...

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
