Guest Anonymous
i just bought a 5speed box and upon getting it home i have noticed that it has an output flange with three holes, whereas my old fourspeed had the 4 bolt output flange... is it possible to swap the one from my 4-speed into the 5-speed box so it mates with my drive shaft guibo?? any help would be great ozgeorge
Guest Anonymous
That may work!! Another possiblity is to use the front (4 bolt) part of the driveshaft. HTH, Lyle
Guest Anonymous
Two options: Use a four-bolt flange from an '80 5spd, or use the front portion of the 320i driveshaft (3-bolt). The driveshaft has to be shortened anyway, so that's a popular way to go since the four-bolt flanges are not very easy to find.

Guest Anonymous
... shaft. That's what I did in Sydney last year and it worked fine. Old E21 drive shafts are cheap and plentiful. Just be doubly careful re shortening measurements. Warren
Guest Anonymous
the 3 holer is a lot easier to find, the guibo IS superior, (and cheaper) so there! t
