Guest Anonymous Posted June 3, 2003 Share Posted June 3, 2003 long lived. The only part that really wears is the butterfly shaft, and the carb base with the shaft/butterfly is a separate part. If you can't find a good base, there are a number of places that will bore out and re-bush the base/shaft for you. My 36-40 is original with 210k and still fine... I've had them on 3 previous 2002's, a 1970 and two 1971's, just about bullet proof, my 1969 4 door 2000 is still 100% original with the single solex., well, try Double '02 salvage, Tim '74 2002 '69 2000 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
