Go to ebay and look for shoulder bushings. They are not expensive and some of them will work well. You need two for each hole--glue them on both sides of the holes. Local harware stores should also have plastic shoulder bushings.

Cables are available from Mobil Tradition or other 02 parts stores.

I'm in the process too. Give me a shout and you can have what you need if I don't need it. But, not today--I'm cookin' the Turkey.

I have done quite a few... Your local home improvement store should have a hardware section with these of bins of goodies. Here is what you are looking for. The OD is correct. the ID needs to be drilled to match the shaft diameter. Trim to length with a dremel tool.

I've considered doing a complete DIY thread or performing this as a service for fellow 2002 owners. It takes quite a bit of time and effort to do a complete restoration of one these heaters.

HELPFUL HINTS: Clean and pressure test your heater core. Before you rivet the entire heater box back together and reinstall back into the car: Fully test all of the flaps for complete/smooth operation. Insure the fan is operational and blowing in the proper INWARD direction.

Most motorcycle shops sell an inexpensive device for lubing cables. Lubing the cables will GREATLY improve the operation of the heater controls.

Feel free to contact me if you have any issues.
