Guest Anonymous
Any advice and/or recommendations as to where to send my non-working VDO speedometer, (out of a '73). I'm located in Indiana.
Guest Anonymous
Most speedo failures are simple enough to repair yourself. If you have the speedo out of the car I would suggest taking it off the cluster and examining it. Most of the time it's simply the cast wheel that comes apart from the shaft and doesn't spin the odometer. Simply tapping the cast wheel back in place usually fixes it 80% of the time. I've done this several times already. I'm actually working on a write-up on it which probably would make a good FAQ article. If you want to try and fix it yourself, email me or post and I will help you. I have pics too to help show what I am describing.

Guest Anonymous
If the speed indicator works but the odometer does not the potmetal gear is the problem. I fixed mine with a dab of super glue. If speed indicator is not working Try pulling the inst cluster and manually turning the input to the speedo. If it works the problem lies in the cable
