Oil pan gasket is off and noticed the oil pump chain is very loose. Has one shim install that has actually broken across the span. I think I need quite a few more to tighten up the slack. I thought this would be a relatively easy part to get. Bavauto says up to 6 weeks, local BMW dealers don't have them and can only get the .1mm stock. I think I need at least two .3mm shims. Anyone ever make their own or know a quick source of them?

Thanks guys, 2002haus and Autohaus seem to have the .3mm shims...but they are closed today, argh. I'll try Monday, thanks again! Guess since I'm all stop on the 2002 right now, I can finally do brakes on my e36. Never ends...

I couldn't find a local source for the .3mm shims either. Also didn't like the outrageous price the dealer charged for the .1mm shims. Ended up buying some cheap sheet metal and making my own using the one on the car as template. Cost me about $5 and a half hour of work.
