The clock in my '73 tii is ticking (has been since I bought it) but the arms do not tell time. I took it out and disassembled it and do not see anything wrong...at least to the eye I don't. I followed the procedure in the faq but that is not the problem. I opened it further past this point of the picture. Any thoughts?

i bought one that was doing the same. this one looks like mine, a late model.

Look for a disk magnet that moves on a pivot back and forth, in between two circular coils, one is red and one is green iirc.

On mine, the magnet rubbed agains one of the magnet and eventualy cut it out, leaving the circuit almost dead, i was able to hear a tiny click, i guess the transistor circuit was trying to kick-on the self-oscillating mechanism.

I fucked on that for nearly 2 month. Ive been able to replace the broken coil but the design of that is so elusive and marginal, there was not enough movement or proximity on my magnet to initiate the mechanic part of the clock to start turning on, there is a litle fork and two pins, just like an old tic-tac clock. I ended up changing all the inards with a late VDO Porsche clock that i bought from a guy here. It is somehow "easy" to do the transplant. The two screws that hold the face plate and the needles fits on perfect, at least.
