Followed the posts re: swapping a 320 steering wheel - seemed straight forward but afterward - no honk

Question Is: where does the wire from the horn button attach? To the horn ring? If so, could the problem be in the horn button and, if so, how do you disassemble the horn button to get inside?

Another post mentioned unscrewing the plastic screws an the center comes apart to clean the contact. I don't see any anyway to pop the thing apart

Thanks

Assuming you mean the 320 sport wheel..

You need to reuse the horn contact from the stock wheel. Extend the wire and attach it to the horn button on the 320 wheel.

I put tape around the plunger and pushed it into a hole in the hub that centered it over the horn ring on the column.

Interestingly, my horn only works when the wheel is centered.. I haven't ever taken the time to work it out.

Here is my blog post on the matter..

Thanks but gave that a try as well and still no honk - leading me to believe the trouble is in the the horn button (on the wheel).

test the horn button:

remove horn form wheel, should have a pigtail wire, disconnect at hub,

remove wheel,

with Key on

Make contact with horn ring on steering column with Pigtail,

hit horn button, if still dont work then bad button,

if works you need to make sure end of pig tail is touching horn ring on Wheel,

and wheel ring must be touching the steering column ring.

added a pick of sport wheel ring pulled up so it will touch the steering column

ring,
