Dear forum- I have been putting the tii back together after a two year restoration, and noticed that the fan was not spinning. In fact it looked like smoke was coming from the area surrounding the fan. i didnt want to have to take the entire car apart to get the box out. Any suggetestions on getting the fan to work without taking everything apart?

They tend to seize from lack of use, more often than not.

Every parts car I have stripped had a locked fan. And every one of them began working (and kept working) when I soaked the assembly with penetrating oil and spun the fan manually to get it loosened up, even while still in the car. Then I removed the power and ground wires and applied battery power, alternating polarity, and the things ALWAYS have freed up. And proceeded to spin like mad for literally hours. I let them all run until I feel like the oil has made its way out and they are good to go..beyond a shadow of a doubt kinda thing.

2002 newbie, and dead serious about it.
