Just started driving my elderly Mothers' 1974 2002...Had a little work done on it and car runs fine (a little problem with the carb when cold) but once it warms up, it runs fine.

Problem is that after running for a bit, at stop lights and signs, the red Oil Pressure light goes on, but goes off as soon as it get a little gas. The oil has not been changed in awhile, so that is my first step but I am wondering if it is just an old faulty sensor or something else.

BTW..the car has 81,000 origina mile, auto transmissions and as good as a "found" car can be...any idea of its' market value? Car is in southwestern CT and probably will be for sale in in the Spring.

....geee , could be my next 02 - "FIRST DIBBS!"

CHANGE THE OIL TO 20W/50 (or 10w/40 if your

going to drive it on non salty days during

the winter) ANY BRAND reg oil will do-

with a BMW supplied oil filter

adjust the idle speed and idle mixture again

me thinks it just a poorly adjusted carb at this point

idle too low when warm

no reason the cold start and warm-up running can't

be adjusted better. it's just auto choke adjustment,

valve adjustment, and igniton point dwell and timing

adjustments needed - 'by the book'

post some photos please
