I just paid $900 for new front control arms, ball joints, sway bar bushings and link. Getting front brake pads and calipers for $500. Prices include parts an labor. Are these average prices for this work?I now need to get an alignment, is there any special requirements for the 2002? I've heard so. thanks

Yes, $1500 is what it costs. I have had Vern aligned each year, haven't heard of any special castor or camber aside from aligning for a straight track.

I'd say you got a good deal on that work. It can be a hair of a pain. Alignment usually runs me $22.50 but each shop is different. My car only gets a toe adjustment.

Put you some e-30 wheels and tires on there to make the alignment easier, The e-30 wheels have the holes in them for the alignment heads.

If not, you risk getting your rims scarred by the heads that have to clamp onto the wheels.

you done gone and heard good and wrongwise, then!

That said, MEASURING everything once to make sure nothing's bent

or misinstalled is good.

But after that, all you can change is toe.

And yeah, 2 tape measures does that as well as it matters.

So if it's never been '4- wheel' aligned, it's not a bad idea to measure it all.

But fixing it is a mechanic's job, (or a body and frame gal, depending) not an 'alignment specialist's'
