retrofitting ac

I'm looking into adding ac on my 68 1600. Sanden compressor would be the way to go but has anybody fitted the Sanden where the smog pump is supposed to be. I'm looking at the very nice bracket our fellow faqer makes but it mounts underneath the exhaust manny and I don't see any exhisting bolt holes to use. Not looking to reinvent the wheel how the retrofit is done - it just seems logical to use the mount point where a pump and belt arrangement previously existed.

You are correct & my 1968 1600 block does not have the threaded mount boss for the bracket. I can see the smog pump area might work if there is room to route the ac hoses & attach to comp.
