My M2 shell just got out of paint yesterday. It was painted the new M3 color Mineral White. Still a lot of work to do including building the header and exhaust for the new EVO III S14 motor. Victor Estorga in Torrance CA. did a great job on the body and paint. No filler and even used BMW spec. seam sealer.

Marc,

The body work and paint look great... especially the fenders. You have a fleet of vehicles that I envy. Looking forward to seeing the end result.

It was already stripped and the body panels were very straight with 0 rust.

They are painting the roll bar satin black today then it is coming back for assembly. I am not sure on the cost....I decided not to keep track anymore on these projects but I think around $10K. I can tell you it was worth every penny to have it done right. I paid top dollar on my Taiga last year and the primer started cracking. Of course the shop is out of business and I had Victor strip it back to metal for a reapint. We discovered the last guys just threw some filler over old filler and that is what cracked. I repalced 3 body panels with new sheet metal and had the car totally stripped down. It is also in paint with Victor.

Very impressive! Are the flares metal? Would love to hear about what you are doing with the head to match it to the Motorsport bottom end.

Hi Kris

The fiber flares came on the car and were put on in the 80's. No cracks and we decided to leave them on. We have a set of real 48MM TB's and had the head ported and polished accordingly. Car is set up as a spirited street car with lots of bottom end. We have a Getrag 265 cr box rebuilt to go in with a 3.45LSD w/ 25% lock up. I expect that we will be in the 240's to the rear wheels or a little better on pump gas.
