My car takes off from a standstill when I turn left or go straight. I ease off the clutch add some gas, and the car revs up to the point of me basically burning the clutch. The linkage looks fine, and motor mounts look decent, but I thinking that is the case as I feel a clunk after the acceleration happens in the front/middle of the car. Trans mount is brand new (e21). Just trying to figure it out

Assuming you have a carburetor, check the return spring on the linkage at the firewall. It might be hanging up on the driver's side heater hose.

Or pedal box bushings are seized?

Bad/mushy engine mounts or a cracked subframe might be a culprit. Does the engine move around A LOT when you press the accelerator pedal (car in neutral, hood open)?

Get under the car and ensure the pedal linkage is not interfering with the clutch slave cylinder.

Happened to me at a car clinic MANY years ago on the skid pad.

Instructor: "OK, lift off the gas."

I do, but throttle stays put. Like cruise control.

Instructor: "LIFT!!"

Me: "I am!" as I lift my right leg up so my shin is even with the steering wheel.

Instructor: "Oh. That's a problem."

Went underneath and saw nothing wrong with the motor mounts, they looked brand new. But what I did see was a hairline crack in the subframe. So i am guessing that is culprit. The linkage is not touching anything top or bottom.
