trunk lock removal

Roy,

From inside the trunk area, look at the rear of the trunk lock, there is a locknut you'll need to loosen and take off. It's not the typical nut but it does secure the trunklock when tightened down, you'll see when you open the trunk and get a look, it loosens and this is how you remove it, be careful though, while you are loosening keep a grip on the trunk lock itself.

I took one out a long time ago, my 2nd 2002, '74 Atlantik blue '02, back in the mid 1980's, had to replace the trunk lock. I remember the inner assembly having that locknut., not much room to work back there!

Tim.
