Seattle area Goodbye-Viaduct drive!

I have posted on the 2002FAQ calendar as well, but it seems to be broken so I'll post here. I'm throwing together a quick night drive this Saturday night (October 15th) to say goodbye to our favorite Seattle city run - the Alaskan Way Viaduct! Since the SODO entrance will be demolished on the 21st, this seemed like a pretty good time for it...

Schedule will be simple:

- Meet at Midnight Motorsport 9:00PM. Leave once it seems like everybody is here (by around 9:30PM)

- Rip up the Viaduct to The Shop Automotive up in Ballard, maybe check in on Don's project.

- Back down the Viaduct to SODO, maybe take a half-hour and see if we can sneak some night photos of the cars in the BMW Seattle parking lot (or on Alki for some city views?).

- End at Smarty Pants in Georgetown for some late-night sammiches, disperse from there.

Please note: this will not be a show-and-shine day, but it will be a quick and dirty drive, so come prepared to DRIVE. If the weather is bad, well, come prepared to drive sideways...

FOR THE HARD OF HEARING...I'll TRANSLATE Patrick's Itinerary....

YOU CAN RIDE WITH ME IF YOU WANT SINCE BOTH OF OUR CARS ARE OUT OF COMMISSION AND HAVE NO DOORS ON THEM OR MOTORS IN THEM...AND WE NEED TO TEST THE HEAT DISPERSING CAPACITY AT TOP SPEED, I MEAN GENTLY DRIVING THRU THE VIADUCT OF THE NEW RADIATOR ON THE 528I.

PERSUADE THE GUARD TO LET US TAKE PICS OF THE COOL CARS WE HAVE THAT DON'T COST TO MUCH BUT WE WANT THE COOL BMW LOGO IN THE BACKGROUND OF OUR PICS....ALKI WILL HAVE NO-ONE IN A BIKINI AT THAT TIME OF NIGHT SO WE SHOULD JUST SKIP IT.

- End at Smarty Pants in Georgetown for some late-night sammiches, disperse from there. HAVE A BEER AND SANDWICH...GO HOME AND SLEEP, NOT BE IN TROUBLE WITH THE WIFE SINCE THIS WAS A SANCTIONED GROUP EVENT AND WE ARE NOT HAVING SAMMICHES AT DEJA-VU.

I can only come if I do not return home covered in glitter from an establishment that requires lots of dollar bills, and I will only be released on my own if I can keep from covering myself in nubile women and don't come home smelling like the Pyramid brewery too...

But other than that...this event will definitely not suck.

p.s. Don, I will not make Yankee jokes if you ride with me. And Alex will not be along as official photographer or designated kid hanging out of car at stop signs as he has a date.

That's too bad that Alex is gonna be gone... I really enjoyed having the requisite kid-out-of-sunroof at the last drive. Tell him we'll miss him, and to not let his love life get in the way of his automotive life. It only causes trouble.

The killer is that she is cute and smart and likes sports! And who would let their kid hang out of a sunroof whilst driving gently thru the Seattle country side...Oh wait, I shoved him out that way to get a pic of Sam's car....

I mean suggested he might get a better angle on the shot...
