Hey all, here are a couple of pics of my "collection" a 72 tii Touring and a 69 2000A.  Just relocated down to Fort Lauderdale from Chicago.  The touring is down here with me, the NK is in the process of getting a new motor and a 5 Speed.  Once the conversion is complete i'll bring it down from Chi-town. Hoping to meet up with other 02bies in South Florida.

Cheers,

Martin

Hi Everyone,

I'm Kai in Orlando (from Germany), just picked up a 74 tii Sienabraun, complete project, motor, tranny has been rebuilt, the body needs the usual work. I'm planning an authentic total restoration , 1 or 2 years ? ...if anyone can recommend a good body and paint guy that doesn't charge an arm and leg please let me know.

the R 1200 is there to keep me sane as I'm tackling that project...

thanks for you help in advance !

Saw this and figured I better sign up! I'm down in Miami with my '76 "Sabine." She's got her suspension more or less ironed out with the interior a close second. Coming in the next few months is A/C, New Engine (turbo), and hopefully a good paint job. This is a pic from last year in California (and yes, the rocker trim is back on). Any other folks down "south"?

Lloyd,

Good seeing you here!  Your 02 is looking great!  The RIMS!!!  Amazing!!!  Not sure who is in the south with you.  I know there are some but don't see many posts.

Things are getting more active in Orlando if you ever want to plan a drive up.  Or if there is something there or halfway, put it on the calendar,

Thanks for registering.

Gary

Hello all,

My name is pedro. I'm in miami and just realized this florida chapter exists. I'm happy to see there are others in these parts but i just don't see any '02s around. This is my car. '73 roundie. I bought it a couple years ago with the intent to flip but i fell in love with it and now i just can't let her go.

Pedro and Leo, that makes 3 in the Miami area! I more or less daily drive my '76 Polaris (see pic above). I haven't seen either of yours yet but I'm sure we'll cross paths soon. Hopefully we can work out a meetup sometime this summer!

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
