Just wanted to get some more thoughts on this before I try putting it in. Never done it.

Someone said I'd need lash caps.

I have an e12 head. I think the motors been rebuilt.

I have no idea what kind of pistons.

I'm assuming it is a one time rebuild on an otherwise stock motor.

Do I need to worry about valves hitting pistons?

Do I need to modify oil passages in the cam journals?

Stahl header, dual Weber 40's, Ti mech dizzy,Crane ign., Pertronics.

If you have stock pistons the 301 should be safe. I used one for a race about 10 years ago with no lash caps. No problems. I have been told that the ramps on the 301 are hard on rockers so I only used it once. G
