Guest Anonymous
Hi, I changed the front brakes on my dads 95 540i and the brake linings warning light is still on. Is the light on because I didn't replace the brake sensor. Thanks,
Guest Anonymous
Could be, but most likely it is a bad wire, usually grounds out somwhere. I would replace it or just remove it all together. If the light is still on after you remove it, the wire is grounded out.

Guest Anonymous
Yes, you probably need to replace the sensor. They're about $5 or less each. You'll probably find that the area that wears (makes contact with metal and completes the circuit) is still shorted.
