Finally finished all the little bits and peices to the interior overhaul and heres the final result. So far I did: removal of factory tar insulation. Sealing of drain holes, paint the floor boards with waterproof undercoating, dynamat, Esty's carpet and mats.

Also, you can see the custom mono speaker grill I made to accept a modern radio (a little crooked at the moment as I was taking stuff apart) and the under dash speakers that use the existing underdash pads. I am getting pretty good sound this way as I'm pushing front sound to the underdash speakers and the rear channel to the center and another to the rear speaker (parcel shelf) .

Big thanks to Esty for her carpet and mats and to Aardvark for the recaros rails, webbing kit, and bits and peices.

Nice! I'm definitely switching back to the light colored carpet when I get a new one. Harder to keep clean, but it definitely looks better with the tobacco interior.

I was playing around with speaker placement last night. Door panel turned so it's facing with in 30 degrees of you is the best followed closely by that configuration in the kick panel. Strangely, hidden away under the dash sounded better than mounting them flat in the kick panel. Definitely a good way to get decent sound and hide the system. 5.25's fit under there and if you didn't mind modifying the glovebox slightly you could stick 6.5's which sound much better than 5.25's or 4's.

Thanks man,

Yeah everyone was telling me "should have gone with black" but my originsl carpet was similar color so I wanted to keep it looking original. Now after thr installation the same people have seen thr light and are telling me how good the carpet looks now.

I personally like thr look more then black, gives it a little bit of light.

I had a local guy at the flea market make me it. I had a buddy donate his dash cover for me to copy as most don't make them in a one peices like this one is. Being one peices iv got hidden storage compartments under the dash cover. I love it, he sells them for 25, I can get you one if it wasn't raining (flea markets not open).

Let me know.
