need help on glove box types

I have my dash and glove box recovered recently. I'm generally happy with quality. But.... Guy mixed up my glove box with someone else's.

I have front glove box pad with 4 bolt holes on the flat surface area. On the other hand, glove box has bolt pattern towards the edge of the box. (photo attached).

I understand that there are several version of glove box. Which one is correct one for my car. I drive 1971 02. (earlier car, 3 piece dash and short console).

My guess front pad is not mine.

I discovered this on my '69--the glove box facing is a different shape from that on my '73...and I can tell you which one is (probably) right for your '71, but won't be able to get to my '69 for at least a week...drop me an e-mail then if you don't have an answer and I'll check it out for you.

It surprised me too--coulnd't believe the logical Germans changed the design for no apparent reason.

Yep, you got the wrong cover. Here is a pic from my '71. There are four screws on the inside--two along the upper edge and two on the bottom (like the ones in your pic). Hope this helps.
