Save or scrap? Chopping up an 1800ti...

UPDATE: It looks like this car maybe saved. I will continue to post many items available before scrapping the rest.

Here is my last NK. Obviously I am abandoning the project and have offered up panels to those that need them. For those of you that have reached out to me, you have first dibs unless my slow response or lack of movement has forced you to look elsewhere, just let me know.

I am open to suggestions and offers. Yes, I do understand that its a shame to do such a thing but there are also those in need that could benefit from this horrendous act.

Obviously I have many more items of interest. If one was really interested in rescuing this car, I would offer to throw in an extra pair of front and rear Koni shocks, three long neck transmissions and a 2000ti motor out of a 68' NK with an interesting history. This motor does come with some paper work and additional material.

So, feel free to let me know what you may be interested in. Anything and every thing is for sale. If you don't see it, I am sure I got it. Although, most NOS items I have collated over the past couple years are no longer available. 404-444-0229

Below is the BMW 1800ti manufactured on September 22nd, 1964. The original colour was Granada until this beautiful patina set in. I am ready to move forward with my intent as the plasma cutter needed to do this job is now available.

NOTE: I will keep the VIN plate and stamp as a token of shame.

Also, if interested, you can download a zip file containing the images in high res. Let me know of other shots you may want.

scrapping this car is just soundswrong , these cars need to be saved

in germany these fetch way more then the 02's

a perfect 1800ti will fetch 25000 euro

this is as good a shell as any to make a beautiful car

why scrap it, I think someone would be very interested in the shell, you can always sell the other parts and still get your money back

It's a pain in the ass to get it to Holland, otherwise I would have bought it myself

please reconsider scrapping it

Hi,

Do you have the Ash Tray available (top centre), Air Box and the Solex carbs with Manifold available?

Your reply will be appreciated.

Cheers.

I do have a nice speaker cover and ashtray short of the lid to the ashtray. As for the other items, they are long gone.

For those others wishing more to save it, I would be willing to throw the subframes back on the car and let someone roll out with it for 2k firm without the additional items.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
