I have IE stage 1 springs. When I jack up the car the springs are no longer compressed and flop to the side. Then when letting the car down I need to reposition the springs so they seat correctly. This is a PITA -- plus sooner or later I might get pinched!!

I saw some one here wired their springs to the top seats but I'm thinking that something a little more robust is required. Has anybody else addressed this? Let me know you solution.

Lowering springs are loose! (? )

of course thay are you silly goose! theyre shorter.

everyone lowers the car slowly and positions

the coil ends properly into the spring seat notches

your'll get over it or throw your stiff tall units back in

and drive it in the tall setting like before.

tie wrap your rubber cups

They do that.

You can strap the suspension to reduce its travel- in back, that's easy to do

with some seatbelt webbing.

It's also a bigger deal, because at some level of lowering, the back

springs will just fall right out- and that's dangerous.

In front, you can make metal clips. I never bothered, as the 2 1/2"

springs reseat pretty reliably.

Suggestions for shortened shocks?

When I looked, there wasn't much. But that was a while ago...

MOST of the brand name lowering springs do not have this problem. Suspension Techniques, Eibach and my favorite H&R are not loose in the perches at full suspension droop. Not to bag on Ireland.... Not all lowering springs are created equal.

The H&R and Eibach springs are progressively wound and have "dead" coild that easily take up the slack at full droop. The ST springs do not, but also do not lower as much as some others do.

I just felt that someone needed to point out that not all lowering springs are loose in the perches at full droop.

I have Bilstein Sports in it now - are there even shorter ones?

I'd like to know, but I'm not going to swtich because I had them custom valved for the car ( which made a big difference).
