Guest Anonymous
....can I use if I'm going to a local store. Most of the stuff they have is for 8cyl motors but they claim to be universal. Could I get say, Accel Superstock 8mm universal wires w/straight boot and make them up myself. They are not solid core. They also require the spark plug knob thing that screws on the top that we normally remove for stock wires. I guess I'll have to buy four new plugs for those. The other option was MSD 8.5mm wires. Same deal for the most part it seems.
Guest Anonymous
I did that once about 15 years back. As I recall a set of wires for a 'generic' Chevy V8 work pretty good (at least generic from the 70's and 80's from when I did mine). You can pick 4 of the 8 that fit the best. Yes- You'll need the nub that goes on the end of the plug to make those work. I now use a wire set from Paul@Max that has a tube for supporting the wiring as it goes forward from the distributor. A real nice set that runs ~$40 as I recall. Have fun- Kevin 1973 2002 Seattle
