I could do was buy a 2002.

She finally arrived late last week.

My first 2002. She is a 72 Granada with sunroof. Spend most of its life in Cali and there is virtually no rust on her. Only a couple of spots on the spare wheel area.

Here are some pictures. As you could see she is a bit of a project but she runs and drives good and that is what I was looking for.

Can't tell from the digitally scrambled plate image whether or not its still wearing it's original CA blue plates (original issue blue plates from '72 will be 3 number / 3 letter plates with the first letter from mid-alphabet - probably somewhere in the M-N-O-P area) - if so, make a copy of the CA title, remove the CA plates and put them away with the title copy, and tell your DMV that the plates were lost in transit from CA when you go to register it.

The original plates and the current year's CA registration sticker are key pieces of documentation that the car spent most of its life in California's dry, relatively rust free climate, and ideally should be kept with the car going forward.

Congrats -- now enjoy it before the cold weather sets in. Make one of your projects painting POR-15 over the rust in the spare tire well... and you should be all set. Just don't make it a winter project as POR-15 has temperature limitations for application.

All the best.

Very nice! I likey the side exhaust pipe. Are those Recaros? never seen that pattern. +1 on keeping the CA plates in case it ever comes back west. Might be my monitor but it looks more Verona to me. Anyway, Congrats and enjoy!

Good eye. It does have a side exit exhaust which I will change the normal rear exit in the spring most likely. Seats are not Recaro. I found out they are out of a mid 80s Alfa Romeo GTV6. No CA plates unfortunately. Those are new CT plates. The color is Granada but it was repainted about 10 years or so ago so who knows.

wow, what a beauty! Congratulations!

i like the stance, it looks perfect

is the exhaust really in front of the right rearwheel? do you have a picture of it underneath?

Yes it is.

I can take a picture for you tomorrow.

I will probably go back to a traditional look next spring.
