built from 1948 until about 1967 or 68--early ones had two piece windshields and a flathead engine. When Morris and Austin merged to become BMC, the Minor got the Austin A-series engine--948cc IIRC--same engine as used in the Sprite--but with a single carb. Torsion bar front suspension.

The wood on the Traveller is real (kits are available for restoration) and they're actuallly quite handy.

Since Sprites/Midgets were an amalgum of Austin A30/35 and Morris Minor running gear, it was easy to fit Spridget disk brakes and the twin carb 1275cc engine to the Morris, giving it much better performance. They actually handled quite well if the lever shocks were in good shape and filled with slightly thicker shock oil. The Morris rack and pinion steering was used in the Sprite, wedded to the Austin A30/5 front suspension.

I used to autocross against a well driven but stock Minor with my 4CV. He never beat me, but came close a couple of times.

Roll that tire forward 1/2 a turn and try again. Probably A and H for Austin Healy... :)
