Hello everyone...

So we finished my car about a month ago, but the car is not running well.....it was running pretty good, before we took it off the car for the restoration, but now it is very hesitant and does not want to run well. I feel like there is no power. and the the power keeps cutting in and out. (if I hold the gas pedal at a certain level in 3rd or 4th, the car goes the same speed, but all of a sudden it wants to go faster) Here is what we have done so far

New spark plugs and cable

New fuel filter

New Fuel pump

Rebuilt 32/36 weber

Electric choke

New battery

Adjusted valves

Adjusted timing

I dont know what else to do....

Any suggestions??

I am in Sunland/Tujunga area

Thank you!!!

Unless you are running Pertronix or other electric ignition, replace the points (set the gap,) rotor and cap on the distributor, set the dwell and timing. That and the coil are about the only suspects left if all the other work has been done correctly.

Check your grounds, especially the neg. battery ground to the body and to the block, and the alternator ground to the front timing cover bolt.

Remove all fuses and make sure they are good (look at the ends of each to verify they have not burned thru in a small circle).

Tip above on dizzy attention is also good. Might also want to check that your carb float is correctly adjusted and not hanging-up.

These are just some of things that come to mind.

How long did your car sit up during the restoration process? Fuel really goes to crap in a hurry if tank and lines aren't COMPLETELY sealed. Even then...
