neat. if you were able to accurately modulate the speed the distributors runs at then you could also watch the advance curve "move" around the ring.

i will probably build a prototype, and then sell them 1000$ each ;)

actually, all you'd need to do is plug a dwell meter onto it from the coil. that would give you RPM and dwell on the points. easier to set the gap out of the car than in...

then, once in the car you'd only have to set the timing. knowing that the curve is right means you could dial it in perfectly against RPM.

There are still vintage distributor machines out there... though - I suspect - not enough distributors left to warrant building new machines (it'd be a cool project, however...). -KB

yeah i looked around for old ones, they probably all end up in metal scrap, so the ones that left are considered vintage machines and sold for 2000$ and up. it is on my list of "projects".
