I just realized I can attend the show. It will be the "debut" for my A4. Still have not replaced engine, so it will be a conservative trip to Palo Alto. Now, all I need to figure out is how to get my Sahara to the show as well. I get to spend the week putting on some cool stuff I have obtained for the A4. Looking fwd to seeing my 02 friends again!!!///

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone as well..it's been a while for me, too.

Jay, let's chat about the guy across the bridge who built the motor for your

Sahara...I've been putting that off for a long time...I even bought another car to

distract me from the issue at hand!

Can't wait to see the A4...those Audis are sure nice.

BTW, I think I might be able to scare up someone to drive an extra car down to the

show...let me know if you're interested for your Sahara, and I'll see if there's anyone

available on my end (don't worry, I only have qualified old-car drivers in mind).

put the real-deal alpina chrome script badge on the rear of the "audi" yesterday , and I am hoping some other goodies show up in the mail before the weekend. We will definately talk about a rebuild/new-build for your car: really excited about the show and seeing the gang again. We will be driving very conservatively to the show, dont want to push the rod knock situation and have to use my AAA Plus to ride a flatbed to the grounds...(wonder if they will have a section for cars and wreckers) so if you meet-up with us on the HWY, plz dont taunt the orange car( the tan car will have to deal with you)!! lol. See you there.///

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
