Guest Anonymous
If so I have read stories in the Roundel and on the various forums about it. I believe it is easier to do the m20 and s14 tho!!! Ryan 68

Guest Anonymous
The 91 318is's had this motor. The valve cover and the intake system are completely different on this motor. Maybe it is a later variation of this motor like an M44 or something newer. From what I've heard the M42 is supposed to be quite a difficult swap. Somembody on one of the boards has one. Seems like they had to use the steering rack from a 320i. -J
Guest Anonymous
It is the 8 valve version of the m42/44 motor. The block has nothing to do with the m10 motor. The m42 swap is very involved and this particular motor would be the worst candidate. The 16 valve m42 is rated at 138hp. I don't know what the 8 valve version is rated at but why bother? You will have more power and originality from a nicely built m10. If you want specifics on the swap email me. In any case; enjoy, Jonathan T.
