there are some bogus CR steering boxes out there that a couple people have paid dearly for and found out to be standard. I have a real CR box in the 72, and I have the numbers from the tag that I have tried to send to ZF for records. Their main website does not even mention/recognize the older generation of steering boxes. Anyway, I have seen real-deal CR boxes traded/sold for around 1,200 bucks of money/parts. Another "market forces" thing- one could sell for more or less depending on the desperation/day.One was on ebay a few months ago. I dont think it made reserve which was north of 1k///

The amount of adjustment left on the adjustment screw is immaterial. What matters is if all the POs kept it full of gear lube. Without the oil, the roller/worm gear, bushings and bearings have a habit of gauling/brunelling. Then all you have is a POS/paperweight. All the internals are NLA.
