Fuel hose size for tii?

BradB

Recommended Posts

I have a '73 tii. For safety reasons I want to replace all the fuel hoses connected to my fuel pump and gas tank. It looks, judging by the O.D. that there may be two sizes.(?)

Can anyone tell me what size hose is used so I can have it in hand when I let the floodgates go?

Thanks!

Cheers and HTH,

You're right, I didn't. And I did! ;) In fact so much that I was really confused. But I am set now! Thanks a lot!

You will probably need to lube up the 12x18 hose to get it through the body hole...a little Vaseline will go a long way ;)

+1

I cut a V-notch in the 12x18 hose, lubed it up and used a piece of wire to pull it thru the welded tube in the body.

Great ideas!

One thing I can't seem to find is the LENGTH REQUIRED to do the replacement. Guess I'll buy a meter of each and hope for the best. (?)

One meter should be good.

Always buy more than you need of the fuel hoses. I keep extra lengths in my car for long trips. You never know....

While you are in there, replace that 0-ring on the pickup tube at the tank. It is a royal pain to get the twist-in pickup to seat, so only do it once (or like me - do it several times).
