Want to verify reporters comment that this vid was shot by the driver of a 2002 caught in the March tsunami. Does anyone speak Japanese? :-)

My brother's a translator, flying into the states tomorrow, in a few days I'll have him type it up and I'll post the translation.

Amazing video.....really scary. Interesting we hear so little about what is happening over there now on our worthless news outlets (all of them). In a country with virtually no open space (landfills etc.,)....maybe a stupid question but when you generate millions upon millions of cubic yards of debris/waste....where is all of this stuff going? On a separate (but related in the sense of the car being a Toyota) I just finished 4 part post on the Schnitzer Toyota Celica Turbo race car. Mainly done due to the ties with Schnitzer - but learned that it actually did have a Turbo Toyota motor (kugelfischer though) - I had always thought for some reason that Schnitzer had stuffed one of their BMW M10 Turbo engines in that car. I know that doesn't really make sense but then again I had no idea Schnitzer had "experience" with Toyota engines....live and learn I guess.

The story behind the story opens with his drowned and smashed car (it appears to be a Fjord Blue? Subaru Lucra) and how they retrieve the chip from his Sony HD camera. I found two web sites with extended video and translation:

News story today: Japan tsunami debris headed for US coast.

They estimate about 1 to 2 years time.

I'm gonna go hang out at the beach with a winch and see if I can get a 2002.
