I just removed my wheels to have them refinished and found that the PO had two different kinds of lug nuts on the car. One set cone shaped and 3 sets were plain (flat base). Which one is the correct for the steelies?

the correct taper of the nut/bolt head is what

matters - how it seats in the wheel lug hole.

Use the wrong taper and you loose a wheel

after it loosens up at the wrong time!!

I thought thiose tapered ones were not appropriate.
