Engine Dead in the Water

Recommended Posts

My low oil pressure light went on so I parked it and bought a tester gauge. I hookedit up to the gauge, started the engine and saw that there was no oil pressure. I went to turn off the engine and it suddenly stopped never to start again. I try to start it and the engine just shuddders and shakes the entire car. To me this sounds bad! I happen to have a spare used engine. I'm In RI /Ct border. Does anyone know someone in my area who could rebuild the spare? Should I have it rebuilt or just drop it in and hope for the best? I'm sick to my stomach with this. Any help from you guys would be great.

the real question is how good is ur spair? if it was me as long as the spair is decent i would put it in, then take ur time n build your original motor, this way u can still enjoy your car while ur engine is being rebuilt.

Yea, I'm not sure of the condition of the spare. I was told that it was a good engine. I think I'll pull the head and check the head/ pistons, change the oil pump, water pump and then cross my fingers.
