IE exhaust hangers

Recommended Posts

I have the IE SS exhaust on my '72, but for whatever reason there is no hanger for the exhaust on the back of my transmission. Does anyone here know where I could get one?

So your referring to the stock exhaust hanger that comes off of the tranny and not the IE exhaust itself. Though if you shot them an email someone would help you out.

quick search reveals roadhog had one about a week and a half ago.

order the trans / exhaust support with the

insulating rubber bushing and washers from any BMW dealer

without it your exhaust will FAIL!

If you have a 4 speed and the IE down pipe, you need the automatic trans bracket because their pipe is fashioned after the auto piece (for anyone adding it to a 5 speed conversion). It is significantly different than the manual trans bracket, as you can see in the pics.

I had to cut the end off, using one of the holes, and add a parts store exhaust bracket to my rusty POS. It worked though.

Now, with a 5 speed conversion in the car, you just need the regular 4 speed exhaust bracket.
