little dash lights

I know it's here somewhere, but search is failing me.

I've got the instrument cluster out, and I'm thinking I should probably replace those little 3v lights. Does anyone know a part number for them? I know that they are on bavauto, and I I'm looking to get them at an Advance Auto/Pep Boys kind of place so I can do it this weekend... is it possible? I know that esty found them on an Isuzu or a Mazda or something...

okay.... going back to searching for myself...

I've got several loose ones, Matt, but they're so small it a little hard to read the letters printed on 'em, but I'll give it a try.

12 V

2CD

H3HG1 (although it might be H3WG1).

If the correct designation is 3W that might indicate the 3 Watts.

Don't know if this will help. Have you got an old one you can take with you? Probably won't help but the BMW P/N is 07 11 9 978 372 (this the P/N on the ones I got from Carl Nelson @ La Jolla Independent, but www.bmwfans.info lists the P/N as 62 11 1 350 062 (with the caveat that "Production Discontinued").

Good luck,

Bob Napier

Thanks Bob - I do have one out, but same situation - hard to read.

Went to Advance Auto - they had a few that looked about right -

151LL (2.7W)

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_Long-Life-Incandescent-Mini-Bulb-Sylvania_10030949-P_1026_R%7CGRPLAMPAMS____

and 161LL (3.4W)

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_Long-Life-Incandescent-Mini-Bulb-Sylvania_10030949-P_1026_R%7CGRPLAMPAMS____

Both looked like the same physical bulb as far as shape, etc. The only difference I could discern was the wattage. They had one that was 4.7W too...

Any specifics I need to watch here? I'm guessing around 3W will work??

Thanks,

Okay, digging some more...having better luck with search.

took your BMW pn, Bob, put it into BavAuto.com and it came back with a part number of 2821, which looked like a post I saw somewhere else in the archives... put in 2821LL into Advance Auto site & got this:

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_Long-Life-Mini-Bulb-Sylvania_99997884-P_1026_R%7CGRPLAMPAMS____

I think that's looking pretty good... now if only they have them in stock...

thanks for all the help. If i'm heading down the wrong road, lemme know.

Okay, I found some bulbs, but now I think I've lost one of the little grey sockets. That's what I get for going out in my grungys...

Anyone got an extra?
