If I can find the type of foam used for this part (its spongy and coated w/ a pliable plastic coating), I'll make one myself! Anyone interested, here's the dimensions in the attached pics

its not NLA. I just bought it. the piece of foam that it replaced (probably the original piece) had special curves to it. mine was in tatters, only half remained and probably contributed to the engine/gas smell in the cabin

considering its a foam donut with no special unique curves. imho its expensive to me. its most likely open cell foam w/ some kind of plastic coating around it.

naaah - the original was just a piece of open cell uncoated foam - no reason to get fancy - it doesn't get wet or oily.

Somehow, I don't think my dealer (Concord BMW in CA.) would sell it for $0.26. It's not in their DNA to sell something like that for less than $10. I'll try to follow-up with a dealer quote ...

I was right but guessed so wrong about what this part would cost at the dealer. This part at BMW Concord is $28.44. Less 10% CCA discount and that makes it $25.60.
