Got a switch wiring question...

Recommended Posts

Got a switch I want to use for an electric fan...I know, I can use a tstat, but not going to. So I got myself a swtich but not sure about the wiring. There are a total of four wires.

Black....Ground I'm guessing

Two Brown wires....the positive between the power and out to the fan...Again a guess.

and one green wire with a blue stripe in it....Goes to the lights I think.

Please help guys.

Thanks.

I don't think your wiring assignments are correct for that switch. If you have a continuity meter I suggest checking out before connecting. I think, by DIN convention, brn are coomon ground to provide light a path to ground, blk is hot feed to switch, wht is switched lead out to load. Meter out to be sure. I'm using one of these for fog lamps to a relay and I also suggest using a relay and not running full fan motor load thru switch.
