Rear drums are rubbing against backing plate. Help!

Recommended Posts

I'm swapping a trailing arm from a parts car onto my car. The drum rubs against the backing plate when seated. When the wheel is on it wont spin at all. It's totally stock. It isn't rubbing against the shoes. The plate doesn't appear to be bent. I've worked on brakes and hubs dozens of times but I've never encountered this problem

Perhaps the wheel flange is too close to the trailing arm--missing spacer between inner and outer wheel bearings? Did you have the stub axles out?
